Why BlogCampaigning?

Over the past month or so, I've gotten a lot of questions from people about how I got started with BlogCampaigning and why we go by that name. The story goes that back in the good old days of August '06, Espen was just starting his thesis on the use of blogs and social media in American political campaigns (you can read the whole thing online here as a series of blog posts). To help him with his research and further understand the medium, Espen wanted to start a blog and settled on the name BlogCampaigning.

It made sense at the time because all of our early posts were about blogs and political campaigns (I joined the team first to help edit Espen's English, and then as a contributor).

Since then, we've realized that there is just way too much cool new stuff out there to limit ourselves to this topic. Although Espen still focuses on the political side, we definitely have a much more eclectic mix to our posts.

If you've got any suggestions for us, we'd love to hear from you. Either leave a comment below or e-mail us at BlogCampaigning (at) gmail (dot) com.

Thanks for reading!
