On Growing Up

For most of my life, major occasions have been marked by photos. At the ages of 14 and 16, I went down to Alberta Registry Services to have my picture taken for my Learner's Permit and Driver's License.

Near the end of grade 12 I had my graduation photo taken. High school was at an end.

I wasn't really a university student until I stood in line to get my student ID card, complete with a photo.

Even my entry into blogging and social networking began by choosing profile pictures.

And now, after working at my job for almost a year, I feel like I've taken another big step: my first corporate photo.

I kind of wish I'd gotten my hair cut beforehand.
