The Founder

Espen Skoland is probably the laziest Norwegian that you will ever meet, but that didn’t stop him from founding BlogCampaigning way back in August 2006 while he was studying at Griffith University in Australia. His masters thesis discussed the impact of blogs on political campaigns and you can download it here.

Espen currently works as a junior consultant for a Norwegian Public Relations consultancy. He also worked as a consultant for New York-based Social Marketing/Online PR firm Converseon a few months this summer after finishing a Master of Arts with Honours in Journalism and Mass Communication at Griffith University’s Gold Coast in June, 2007. During his stay in Australia Espen worked at BamMedia, where he was involved primarily with public relations for Lexmark Indy 300 on the Gold Coast. Before coming to Australia, Espen was a board member and Public Relations Director at Hulen, a concert venue in the city of Bergen, Norway. In 2004, he graduated from the University of Bergen with a Bachelor in Media Studies and Comparative Politics. Espen created the BlogCampaigning website as a way to analyse and centralise the information circulating about the topic.

His work has appeared online here at BlogCampaigning and in an online article:Why politicians should stop spinning and learn to love the blog. He was also quoted in in The Age, an Australian newspaper:Blooper politics easy as fall off a blog
