Still, I’m not so much concerned that my personal reputation might not follow me as I skip from one social network stone to the next – it’s more that the data repositories are closed silos.

I’ve invested time and attention in so many of these places – places that end up holding what amounts to certain reputational data, connections, contact info, and various other personal artifacts and breadcrumbs of my online life.

That’s my stuff, but there’s no easy way for me to pull it all together into one place – even if all I want to do is point to it with a lopsided grin and say “mine”.

It’s the silos, mate. Too many silos.
